Skincare Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

Last month, I finally finished my Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Eye Treatment. I was actually looking forward to running out so I could try something new. I made a few purchases during The Body Shop’s 40% off sale (which is currently happening on their website) and knew that I had to have this. The Body Shop is my favorite skincare brand not only because their products are made with natural raw ingredients, but also because they are always having amazing sales! I got this for just under $11, which is a lot better than spending $38 for the Korres eye cream.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream is said to be “A moisturizing eye cream that helps protect the delicate skin around the eye area, reducing the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Contains moisturizing shea butter and rose hip oil.”

This comes in a small pink tube and is very easy to squeeze out product. It comes with half a fluid ounce, which seems like such a small amount but you only need about a pea size of moisturizer for both eyes. The Korres eye cream comes with 0.51 fluid ounces and that lasted me about 6 months. I think $11 for 6 months worth of product is a pretty good deal. The texture of this cream is very silky and light. There is no added fragrance which I love because eye creams with fragrance in them tend to burn when you accidentally get them in your eye. I have gotten the Korres eye cream in my eyes a handful of times and it sucked! I really enjoy applying this to my eye area because it feels very smooth and hydrating.

So I have been using this for about a month now and I have to say that I have seen no difference in my fine lines and dark circles. However, I never believe when a product states that it will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness because I think that is all hereditary. Even though I still have really bad dark circles, I still enjoy using this eye cream because it makes my under eye area very moisturized which preps for smooth application of my under eye concealer. Before, I never liked applying an eye cream in the morning because I found that my concealer would never set properly which caused it to fade throughout the day. But I actually found that my undereye concealer applied better when I prepped that area of the skin with an eye cream. I just have to make sure to set that area with a mattifying powder such as the Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder.
