As much as I love my NYX HD Concealer, I wanted to try something that matched my skin tone a little better. I have tried this concealer from Maybelline a few years back and couldn’t remember why I never repurchased it. I have only heard good things about this concealer so I was pretty excited to try it out again.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is said to “Blend seamlessly to cover under-eye circles & imperfections. Matches natural tone, never blotches, never cakes.”
This concealer comes in 6 shades ranging from light to dark. The shade Sand is light/medium and is very yellow-toned. I like that this concealer comes with a doe-foot applicator because it makes it so easy to apply product to any area on the face. However, the packaging gets dirty quite easily and the text started to fade after only a few days of having this. I noticed that after using this concealer, product started to leak out from the tube after opening and closing it. I ended up getting concealer all over the makeup bag that I keep in my purse, so I wouldn’t recommend traveling with this.
The consistency of this is light and a bit liquidy, but it is still extremely easy to blend out and work into the skin. I think it blends easier than the NYX HD Concealer, however, it doesn’t have as great of coverage. This concealer covers redness, blemishes, and dark circles okay. I am actually not as obsessed with having flawless skin like I use to be so this concealer actually works great for me. I still have some redness that shows through in between my eyebrows and around my nose, but I think I need a green concealer to counteract that. However, I think this does a pretty good job with covering my dark circles and making me look more awake. I still use my Benefit Erase Paste to counteract the blues and purples of my dark circles, but this concealer over top works beautifully.
Using this over blemishes isn’t going to provide super heavy coverage, but it will take away some of the redness. I use this concealer also as a highlight so I blend it out up to the center of my forehead and a little down my nose and on my chin. I think this works amazingly as a highlight. It doesn’t cake up or crease on those areas and lasts quite a long time. But on the areas that need more work (where coverage is actually needed), this doesn’t last as long and does crease a bit. I noticed that no matter how much product I use under my eyes or if I set the area with powder, this will end up creasing in those fine lines. I think mixing this with some MAC Pro Longwear concealer for under the eyes is the only way I got this to not crease. As an everyday, fast application concealer, this is probably my favorite. But if you need something that is more full coverage, this may not work out for you. I still recommend trying this out if you want something that works as both a highlight and a light/medium coverage concealer.
