Review: Benefit Erase Paste

Benefit Erase Paste

One of my holy grail makeup products is, of course, an undereye concealer. Benefit Erase Paste is more of a color corrector/neutralizer rather than your normal skintone-color concealer. I never even heard of a color corrector before purchasing this. I used to slather on tons of concealer on my dark circles, which caused that area to look cakey and muddy. Applying a lot of concealer to extreme dark circles without applying a color corrector first will just make the dark circles look ashy and more noticeable. I highly recommend using a color corrector/neutralizer for very dark circles. For me, it’s an absolute must.

Benefit Erase Paste is said to be “A brightening camouflage for the eyes and face. It is a concentrated, creamy, blendable concealer that instantly brightens and camouflages all-in-one. It has an innovative formula which makes sure signs of stress and fatigue are a thing of the past.”

This product comes in a very small jar, which I find to be very cute. It comes with a tiny spatula for those who think dipping your finger into this product repeatedly is unhygienic, but I found the spatula to be useless. You get tons more product when using the spatula rather than your finger so I find it to be very wasteful. This concealer feels extremely creamy and a bit thick, but it blends out effortlessly. You really only need a small amount to get the best outcome. Because this is very creamy, it does tend to crease, so the more product you apply, the more creasing you will get. I apply this only to the darkest areas of my undereye circles and blend it out and up towards my lower lashes. I basically blend this out anywhere I have discoloration. You definitely need to set this product with powder because it does leave a bit of a shine.

I have this in the shade Medium #2, which is a peach/salmon color. This also comes in both a lighter and darker shade. The shade I use works best for my skin tone and neutralizes the dark purple of my undereye circles perfectly. This product not only cancels out discoloration but is also extremely brightening! You may think that $26 for such a small amount of product (0.15 ounces) seems ridiculous, but trust me, this concealer is worth it. I purchased Erase Paste in January of last year and still have a good amount of product left. I use this product EVERY SINGLE DAY and still have enough to last me until the end of the year, maybe even longer. You really don’t need that much product to get great coverage. This is, hands down, the best color corrector I have tried. I apply my MAC Pro Longwear concealer over this, which helps to prevent any creasing. Lastly, I set my undereye area with a tiny bit of Tarte Smooth Operator powder and have found absolutely no creasing under or around my eyes. I highly recommend trying this concealer out!
