Review: Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Too Faced recently came out with their own line of liquid lipsticks. It seems like every brand, both drugstore and high-end, are coming out with new liquid lipsticks and stains. I absolutely love my Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream and Sephora Cream Lip Stains so I was very excited to try these out!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick is said to be “An intensely saturated lip color with a precise tip applicator. The shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold, long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator, delivering rich color with staying power.”

The packaging of these liquid lipsticks is so cute! I like that it is different than your usual plastic tube and doe-foot wand applicator. However, the slanted sponge-tip applicator sort of creeps me out. I feel like the sponge will eventually get filled with bacteria which will then go on my lips. But the applicator really does make application of this product extremely easy! The texture of the liquid is more of a cream than an actual liquid. It isn’t super thick but it’s not thin and liquidy either. Because of the consistency of this product, I HIGHLY suggest exfoliating your lips prior to applying this lipstick. This will emphasize pesky flakes on the lips so make sure to also apply a balm as well. There is a slight candy-floral fragrance but it fades rather quickly and doesn’t linger on the lips.

I got this lipstick in shades Melted Coral and Melted Candy. Both of these colors are very opaque and bright! These two shades are absolute must-haves for the spring and summer. They are also extremely comfortable to wear and very long-lasting. Both lasted a good 7 to 8 hours without eating and there was no feathering or bleeding whatsoever. However, you do have to touch-up after eating anything really which I found to be a bit problematic because layering on more of this product caused it to look cakey and flaky. I think for a touch up, a lip brush works a lot better because you can control how much product you want to reapply. This felt neither hydrating nor drying and you are able to wear a lip balm or gloss over top without affecting the wear time. I also found that it never really sets on the lips so it isn’t really transfer-proof. After this fades away, both shades left a slight stain to the lips as well. I highly recommend trying this liquid lipstick out!
