Review: Palladio Rice Powder

Palladio Rice Powder

I heard a lot of good things about Palladio Rice Powder so I decided to try it out. I always want to find the perfect translucent setting powder that helps control oil without making me look cakey. Plus, this powder is only $5 so I thought that was an extremely great deal.

Palladio Rice Powder is said to be an “original ancient Chinese loose powder” that is “perfect for absorbing excess oils, highlighting your features, and setting your makeup.”

Even though I prefer to set my makeup with pressed powders because they are easier for touch-ups throughout the day, loose powders set and blend into the skin much easier. The packaging of this powder is cute, yet bulky. I wouldn’t be able to throw this in my purse for touch-ups during the day because the lid can easily come off if the powder is upside down. This can also get a bit messy because a lot of product tends to come out from the many tiny holes. However, this powder sets beautifully and doesn’t make my foundation look cakey at all. The shade Translucent does not leave any color or white cast to the skin. It is very great at setting my makeup without emphasizing any dry patches or fine lines. The texture of this powder is incredibly soft and smooth, which is an absolute dream to set your make up with.

Now this did not control oil at all. I became oily after about 3 hours, which is a big problem when I’m not able to carry this with me in my purse. I would love it if this powder came in a compact pressed version because I really do like how this settles into the skin. It doesn’t feel chalky or leave me looking powdery after applying it. I would recommend this to those with normal skin because this is a wonderful setting powder. However, those of us with oily skin won’t be able to touch up with this if we are out and about so I would recommend checking out Rimmel Stay Matte Powder instead.
