Review: The Body Shop Lip Care

The Body Shop Lip Care

On a recent trip to my local Body Shop, I picked up this Lip Care stick. I originally wanted to get the Aloe Vera lip treatment but they were sold out, so the sales associate recommended this to me instead. It’s supposed to help with dry, flaky skin and act as a great base for lipsticks.
The Body Shop Lip Care is said to be a “lip moisturizer in a stick” that “hydrates and conditions lips while giving a subtle shine. Moisturizing. Subtle shine. Dermatologically tested.”

I love that this looks exactly like a lipstick. It is small, compact, and very cute! This goes on invisibly, yet leaves a subtle shine like the description states. However, I did not notice anything special with this product. It applies very smoothly and helps a bit with flakes, but at about midday I feel like I need to reapply. It did not dry out my lips, which is good, but I didn’t notice anything special with this. It does act as a great base for lipsticks, however, and I will use this for that. But, I think good old Vaseline works a lot better than this product. I also liked using the Blistex Medicated lip treatment, but the smell is pretty strong. For the price, this should work amazingly, but it left me quite disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this product.
