Benefit recently came out with a new liquid-to-powder foundation called The Big Easy. I knew I had to try this because it seems to be wonderful for oily skin and perfect for the upcoming hot weather. The name of this foundation also intrigued me because of how silly it sounded.
Benefit The Big Easy Liquid To Powder SPF 35 Foundation is said to be “A multibalancing complexion perfector with broad-spectrum SPF 35 sunscreen. Big Easy contains ingredients known to help balance moisture and control oil, while the cushiony liquid-to-powder formula melts in like a cream, yet finishes lightweight and velvety like a powder. This multibalancing complexion perfector self-adjusts to your exact shade to even out skintone and conceal imperfections. It also contains ingredients known to soothe and comfort the skin and help fight free radicals.”
This foundation comes in a squeeze-type bottle and contains 1.18 ounces compared to the usual 1 ounce bottle that most foundations come in. Now I usually don’t trust foundations that claim to “self-adjust” to your shade but I decided to pick this up in the color Light and it is a perfect match! This foundation only comes in 6 shades so it might be difficult for those with dark skin tones to find a match. The consistency of this is a bit heavy and creamy, yet finishes to a soft, velvety finish. The coverage of this foundation is light to medium and is very buildable. I still had to use concealer over my dark circles and dark spots but this covered the redness on my checks and between my eyebrows easily. Benefit recommends to use your fingers to apply this but I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush instead and did not have any problems.
I absolutely love this foundation! It lasted on me for about 5 hours before I noticed a bit of shine on my nose and forehead but I looked closer to dewy than oily which is amazing. I could have gone about 6 to 7 hours without blotting and still have my foundation look beautiful. This did not emphasize any fine lines or dry patches but I always make sure to thoroughly moisturize before applying anything else to my face. This did not feel drying or heavy on my skin at all and I feel like it made my face look brighter. After about 8 hours, I did notice some fading but reapplying powder made it looked like I had just applied my foundation. I highly recommend this foundation to all skin types!
