Review: Palladio Rice Powder

Palladio Rice Powder

I heard a lot of good things about Palladio Rice Powder so I decided to try it out. I always want to find the perfect translucent setting powder that helps control oil without making me look cakey. Plus, this powder is only $5 so I thought that was an extremely great deal.

Palladio Rice Powder is said to be an “original ancient Chinese loose powder” that is “perfect for absorbing excess oils, highlighting your features, and setting your makeup.”

Even though I prefer to set my makeup with pressed powders because they …

Favorite Highlighters!

Favorite Highlighters

I decided to share with you my favorite highlighters from my makeup collection. I love highlighting my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, brow bone, and down my nose. However, I always thought that because I have very oily skin that highlighting those areas of my face would make me look extremely greasy. Now I know that no matter what your skin type is, highlighting is an absolute must! These are the highlighters that I feel work best for my skin tone.

This first highlighter is from the NARS limited edition Guy …

Skincare: Daytime Routine

Skincare - Daytime Routine3

I’ve gone into detail about my nighttime skincare routine so now I’ll describe how I prep my skin in the morning. Because I’m usually in a rush, I like to use a minimal amount of products. I just use a toner and moisturizer before I apply a primer and my makeup for the day. These products work very well for my oily, sensitive skin and I feel like my face has been getting a lot clearer and smoother this past month. These are the products I use for my daytime skincare routine.

I don’t like washing my face in the …

Skincare: Nighttime Routine

Skincare - Nighttime Routine8

For the past three weeks or so, I’ve changed up both my nighttime and daytime skincare routines and my skin has never felt and looked better! I was using products targeted towards acne-prone skin so both my cleanser and moisturizer contained salicylic acid. Even though I feel like salicylic acid helps to control oil, I feel like my skin was getting very dry in certain areas (mainly my cheeks and around my mouth). Now I usually don’t break out often, but I do get the occasional pimple here and there. I wouldn’t really describe my skin as being acne-prone but …

Review: NARS Sin Blush

Nars Sin

One of my all time favorite blushes is NARS Sin. This color is the most gorgeous plummy pink shade which is perfect for a night out! I love to pair this shade with either dark, smokey eyes or a dark, berry lip.

NARS Blush in Sin is said to be “A soft, sheer pressed powder blush. NARS Blush offers a range of translucent, natural shades, each with a subtle pink for natural blush undertone, created to highlight the complexion.” Sin is described as a “berry with gold shimmer.”

Even though this shade looks very shimmery, it doesn’t come off …

Review: The Body Shop All In One Face Base

The Body Shop All In One Face Base3

During my recent trip to The Body Shop, the sales associate recommended that I try out this powder/foundation. She told me that this would be perfect for my oily skin because it leaves a matte finish. I was a bit hesitant to purchase a powder foundation because they tend to make me look cakey but I decided to try this out.

The Body Shop All In One Face Base is said to be “A foundation and powder in one neat compact. Use dry for a light matte finish or wet for high coverage. Perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. Matte finish. Velvety feel. No …

Review: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20

MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer

So I’ve been noticing that my concealer has been creasing around my eyes throughout the day and decided to pick up MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. This concealer is said to be crease-proof and full coverage so I knew that I had to have it. Plus, I have heard only good things about this product so I was very excited to try it out.

Review: The Body Shop Lip Care

The Body Shop Lip Care

On a recent trip to my local Body Shop, I picked up this Lip Care stick. I originally wanted to get the Aloe Vera lip treatment but they were sold out, so the sales associate recommended this to me instead. It’s supposed to help with dry, flaky skin and act as a great base for lipsticks.
The Body Shop Lip Care is said to be a “lip moisturizer in a stick” that “hydrates and conditions lips while giving a subtle shine. Moisturizing. Subtle shine. Dermatologically tested.”

I love that this looks exactly like a lipstick. It is …

Review: Benefit The Big Easy Liquid To Powder SPF 35 Foundation

Benefit Big Easy

Benefit recently came out with a new liquid-to-powder foundation called The Big Easy. I knew I had to try this because it seems to be wonderful for oily skin and perfect for the upcoming hot weather. The name of this foundation also intrigued me because of how silly it sounded.

Benefit The Big Easy Liquid To Powder SPF 35 Foundation is said to be “A multibalancing complexion perfector with broad-spectrum SPF 35 sunscreen. Big Easy contains ingredients known to help balance moisture and control oil, while the cushiony liquid-to-powder formula melts in like a …

Review: The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It

The Body Shop Matte Primer

So I never knew that The Body Shop sold makeup products. I went in there in search for a lip treatment and walked out with this primer (and a whole lotta other stuff) instead. The sales associate informed me that this is a dupe for the Smashbox Photo Finish primer but it is made with synthetic silk. I am always open to trying out products that will help control my oily skin.

The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It is supposed to be “for normal and oily skins which creates a smooth base for foundation. It has been designed to deter shine and …
